Sales Report

The following report presents the monthly sales overview for Molermo's baggie organizer product on the Amazon USA marketplace in October 2023. Crafted as a one-page interactive document, this report has undergone thorough data collection, manipulation, and analysis, culminating in its final form using Microsoft Power BI.

*The locations where the data was collected are specified at the end of the page.

The section on performance metrics, situated in the upper part of this report, offers insights into the figures for the current month and the percentage change compared to the previous month. On the far right, you can find the Amazon ASINs of products most frequently purchased alongside ours. Understanding the products our customers frequently combine with ours is advantageous for both our advertising strategy and product development.

In October, the average selling price increased by 12.9% compared to the previous month, reaching $24.97. Despite a 7.78% decrease in the total number of units sold to 247, the revenue saw a 5.93% increase, reaching $6167.59. The repeat customer share increased by 0.53%, reaching 1.71%, and the average customer review improved by 11% compared to the previous month, reaching 4.67 out of 5.

On a negative note, the price hike led to a notable 19% increase in the refund rate, reaching 8.1%. This may be attributed to customers buying multiple products for the same need, possibly returning our relatively more expensive item despite positive reviews. Notably, if there were product defects, we would have expected a decrease in review ratings, which did not occur.

In the left section of the report, there is an interactive map and chart displaying the sales amount in each state on specific days in October. Additionally, there is a tab showing the percentage of total sales for all states. This allows us to access the performance results for all states and days from a single section of the report.

By clicking on any day in the chart, you can see which states contributed to the sales on that specific day.

In October, 16.47% of the total sales were generated in the state of California. If similar results are observed in the following months, it might be worth considering investment to expand operations in California.

On a negative note, it is notable that some states like Kansas, Mississippi, and Maryland did not record any sales in October. If the results in these states persist, it may be prudent to consider taking action.

In the upper-right section of the report, we have insights into the demographic distribution of sales in October. Armed with this knowledge, we can strategically shape our brand's branding strategy and boost the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on platforms such as Meta Suite Business, which offer demographic-filtered advertising.

The findings from the report indicate a prevalent preference for our product among married women in October, with a notable lack of appeal among individuals with an education level of 'less than high school'; conversely, it demonstrated a well-distributed preference across all other education levels. In terms of age criteria, the product exhibited a lack of favoritism among young individuals aged 18-24, yet displayed a well-balanced distribution across other age groups.
